Product Manager Service Products - based in Germany

Wireless Business Unit
To manage all activities aimed at achieving the Wireless Business Unit Service Products bookings and sales objectives.
Participate in the joint decision making process regarding BU goals and objectives, recommending plans and strategies
Main responsibilities/duties include:
Responsible for Service Products P&L
Market research - to obtain, collate analyse and apply market and competitive data pertinent to the product, anticipating market changes and the forward strategies of competitors
Specification - to originate and maintain the requirements and specifications for the product, anticipating customer needs and competitive positioning
Pricing – to propose pricing structure and provide the necessary data to facilitate the issues of a product pricelist. Authorised to approve product discounts up to an agreed level before escalation. To act as the bid leader on all major bids associated with the designated products
Launch - to plan and supervise all matters relating to the successful introduction to the market of the product ensuring that all necessary material and support is available
Customer – Liaise with existing and prospective customers to resolve product related issues and represent the customer view when involved in internal dialogue
Publicity – to originate or cause to be originated all product related publicity material including press releases, magazines articles, conference papers and advertisements
Monitoring – to monitor the sales performance of the product and formulate as necessary enhancements, quality improvements, price changes, sales tactics and sales channel training
Demonstration – to deliver or cause to deliver product demonstrations and benchmarks in support of the sales channel, reinforcing product strengths, features and benefits, including support of exhibitions and seminars
Documentation – to originate or cause to originate the necessary product datasheets, brochures, marketing bulletins, presentations, sales proposals and RFQ responses
Training – to provide sales related product training for the sales channel.
The successful candidate will possess a recognised technical degree or equivalent and have a background in product management. Previous experience in managing and developing products for international markets, analysis of customer requirements and product development is essential. The candidate will be a highly motivated team player keen to meet targets and be involved in the direction and expansion of the business.
A familiarity with the test and measurement market and an understanding of wireless and cellular technology, along with RF experience is highly desirable. The successful candidate must have good verbal and written communication skills and be fluent in English. Local and international travel is an integral part of this position and the successful applicant should be prepared to spend up to 50% of their time traveling. It is expected that the successful applicant will be based in Germany and willing to work from a home office.
